Stop HB 123: A New Tax On Landowners
NH recently got rid of it’s only income tax, now legislators are pushing a new one.
HB 123 proposes a new 10% tax on income for landowners who get paid to keep land in conservation. This legislation would set a bad precedent of allowing local government to tax income.
Rather than introducing new taxes on private landowners, lawmakers should focus on reducing unnecessary spending.
Support HB 649 – End Mandatory Annual Vehicle Inspections
Vehicle inspections are an overly burdensome regulation that Granite Staters need to overcome every year. Let’s remove that barrier and trust every vehicle owner to keep up with the safety and maintenance of their own vehicles.
By allowing consumers to make more informed decisions regarding vehicle safety without government mandates, HB 649 encourages a more market-driven approach. Consumers and vehicle repair shops will have the flexibility to determine safety standards based on need and demand, rather than rigid, one-size-fits-all government regulations.
Let’s end the unnecessary burden of annual vehicle inspections.
Support HB 701 – Right to Try Expansion
Patients with terminal illnesses often face a harsh reality: traditional treatments have failed, time is running out, and their only hope may lie in experimental therapies still awaiting full FDA approval. Unfortunately, the current approval process can take years—time that many patients simply don’t have. Even when a treatment has passed basic safety testing, patients must navigate layers of bureaucracy just to be considered for access. This system denies individuals the fundamental right to fight for their lives on their own terms.
HB 701 seeks to change that. By expanding New Hampshire’s Right to Try framework, HB 701 empowers patients to access investigational treatments more easily through telehealth prescreening and remote consent. It provides legal protections to the doctors and manufacturers who make these options available and ensures patients have a path to seek relief if denied access. This bill reflects a simple but powerful idea: patients—not the government—should decide what risks they’re willing to take when it comes to their own health.
